I offer a complete English-Russian and German-Russian translation and update service for websites or documents to be published on the Internet. This includes text translation, localization of graphical images, scripts, multimedia elements and free basic promotion. I am experienced with HTML and design websites myself. This helps me to provide worry-free website translation.

Website Localization Process

Phase I. Obtaining the files
- To properly evaluate/translate your website I will need both client side and server side files. I can download your site directly from the Internet. However, if your site contains password protection, page source protection, script files, non-static elements, etc., we arrange a file transfer from your FTP server or you can send the whole site by email or post.

Phase II. Analysis and project planning
- A site analysis is carried out by counting the pages, graphics, and links. I analyze the directory structure to be certain that I preserve the site exactly the way you designed it. In addition, a word count is taken to determine the amount of translation needed.

Phase III. Website localization
- Following the technical analysis of the site, I first determine which content elements need to be localized. Localization means that certain cultural and geographical issues must be considered when you are addressing an audience in a particular area.

Phase IV. Text translation
- When ordering translation of a website the following factor should be kept in mind. Every web page contains a visible and hidden text. Hidden text includes meta tag keywords, titles of pages, descriptions, copyright notices, alternate text for graphical images, javascript mouseover link descriptions, form responses, and more. Although this text is not readily visible by the website viewer, it is an essential part of the website, and must be translated. Translationfrom English into Russian and German into Russian can be provided in both Windows and KOI8 encoding.

Phase V. Localizing graphical images and multi-media elements
- Images, scripts, animations, flash movies are translatable elements. In order to produce a fully localized version of your original website, all these elements must be translated consistently with the rest of the site. Your GIF and JPEG files could be retouched. I cut out the source language text, repair the background and paste in the target language text. If the term to be translated is of a different length or size than the original, I can use a smaller font size. As an alternative, the graphic can be modified to accommodate the size of the translated word.

Phase VI. Checking site integrity
- After the whole content has been translated and re-integrated into the HTML, I test the website to catch any visual, functional, or language errors. Using both Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Explorer (you can specify the version), I go through every page of the translated site looking for cross-browser compatibility problems, broken links of the navigation system, broken image links, layout problems, multilingual site interface, international character encoding issues.

Phase VII. Delivery of the localized version
- The finished localized website is delivered to you by email, post or via FTP. All your web designer needs to do is put the site up on the world wide web. Alternatively, I can upload the site to my FTP server, so that you can review it online. After you review the site, I always appreciate any feedback you may have. If any mistakes are found, they will be corrected and the replacement pages emailed to you.
